Meet the ASC Team – Neil

Neil was lucky enough to grow up in Southern Africa and travel extensively as a boy:  family safaris in Kruger National Park, beach holidays on the whale coast in Hermanus, and trout fishing in the Drakensberg Mountains composed his exciting childhood.  Travel stuck with Neil, and his love of airplanes and the aviation industry turned into a marketing job for a small air charter company based in Cape Town.  From there, Neil started helping out with his sister’s fledgling travel company and eventually grew into the managing director.  He’s now the behind-the-scenes engine that ensures everything works properly here at ASC.  Neil’s experience in the travel industry during his 10-year career is unmatched, and his love of travel, as well as sharing that love with others, is evident from the first time you hear him speak!

Get to know Neil more after the jump!

What do you enjoy most about the safari industry? No two days are the same. The travel industry is filled with lots of fascinating characters. The opportunity to steer tourist dollar income towards worthwhile wildlife conservation projects and community uplliftment projects while simultaneously making people’s dream trips come true. Also, being able to travel to some of the most incredible destinations in Africa on site inspections.

Your most memorable moment on safari? When a ‘well to do’ American tourist peed off the back of a game drive vehicle.  When I proposed to my wife on ‘Beatty Bump’ in the heart of the Sabi Sands.

Your favorite safari destination? South Africa and the Greater Kruger Park (Sabi Sands in particular).  Zambia as well.

Your favorite animal? The leopard because it is beautiful, powerful, humble and deadly.

What sets ACS apart? As an established US based safari travel company with a strategic partnership with a South African based ground handler, ASC has almost 60 years of collective travel experience.  By cutting out the middle man, ASC can offer very competitive pricing on trips, international airfares, and travel insurance.  It is a one-stop safari travel shop.
