I continue with the theme of winter wildlife viewing off South Africa’s shores. So I have to mention one of the biggest seasons that we have in the Cape – the Whale Watching season. Whale watching has been so well promoted over the last few years in South Africa, that we actually have visitors coming [...]

Hi Ms Lize, We are back home sound and safe. We had lovely time. We appreciate the way you had organized. Trip was simply superb and we had fabulous time. Every thing was so perfect. We just can't stop talking about the trip. All hotels were very good and people were very courteous and friendly, except for the Somerstand hotel in Port Elizabeth . The bathrooms were not clean. The person in the front office was not very friendly and took long to check in. Our guide and driver mr.David was very helpful and kind. We had a perfect vacation and enjoyed every moment. We thank you for organizing such a lovely and perfect holiday for us. ..The accommodation in every place was good: starting from Johanesburg, Kruger(simply fantastic), Hippo Halo in Hazy View (beautiful), Cape Town Taj Hotel (fantastic), the farm at Outdshoorn was the crowning glory of our trip -wish we had spent one more day. Our special thanks to all the guides locha and Jason in Kruger, Phillip, Atil, and David who were very friendly and helpful. Last certainly not the least ,thanks to you for organizing things so well! Regards, Revathi Narayanan
Liesl, Yes, we had a safe journey home. That JoBerg to Atlanta flight is so long. Wow! But at least we had the lay flat seats so we were able to try to sleep more comfortably. Londolozi ended up being our absolute favorite...loved the suites, the staff and the Internet. Tom and Jerry ended up to be the best guides by a mile. Wish I could have gone back to re-tip them bigger. We did promise to send a movie to Jerry, our tracker, and I am having a hard time getting a physical address for Londolozi complete with zip code. an you get me that? Botswana was great but much different and I know that was what you were trying to do. The elephants at Kings Pool And the lions at Mombo were incredible. At Mombo we saw a Wild Dog named solo, who was abandon by her pack and adopted by Jackals. They just put a movie on National Geographic called a wild dogs tale about her life. My birthday was spent on a helicopter and a train in Livingstone. The falls were incredible. We also white water rafted that weekend as well. Very kind people in Zambia. Thanks again for the African Queen boat trip. We enjoyed that very much. We will keep your name handy when/if we decide to come back. I would love a referral for South America including Maccu Piccu and the Galápagos Islands. And also one for Japan. Thanks! Kathy Deal
Hi Liesl, Sadly, our African journey has come to an end! Everything was flawless as far as arrangements. We loved absolutely everything we did. The apartment was great in Cape Town; loved the ostrich farm. African Perfection is worth recommending in Jeffrey's Bay. LOVED Bukela Lodge at Amakhala (very intimate experience, with easy access; though can't be compared to a Chobe, for example - two very different, but positive experiences). Zambezi Sun was great, although that was the only place Jim got violently ill one night from food we imagine, and Olivia had a scary high fever which came and went for 3 days. In Zambia we did the rhino walk and elephant back safari, both of which we loved. The kids and I did the village tour to Makuni Village which was far more authentic than I could've imagined. The guys had fun on their half day fishing. Olivia and I hired a driver and gave out more toys to an orphanage and kids on the streets. Wish we had time to pop into Zimbabwe for the day. LOVED Chobe Game Lodge... worth every penny to have splurged. Phenomenal animal sightings. Not many people were at the lodge (about 20 out of a capacity of 80) so once again it felt very intimate. Bush Tracks was an excellent company who showed up everywhere for every transfer on time and professional. Thanks for your superb planning with me. I wouldn't have changed a thing! Kim
I just got back to the office. I don't have my photos on this computer yet, but I will forward some when I get them on here. Jen and I absolutely LOVED all of the camps/hotels you chose. They all had something different to offer and we were so pleased with all of them. I think my favorite was Thornybush because the accommodations were superb and the game viewing was truly spectacular. However, Nottens was warm and the people and FOOD was unbelievable. So, it is really hard to say what was the best. The falls were very low on water, but we got a great baboon show while we were there. All in all it was the trip of a lifetime and Jennifer and I cannot thank you enough. All of our flights and transports went flawlessly. We have you to thank for that. Your planning was perfect. Ilze you are fabulous! Again, we cannot thank you enough for the greatest vacation we have ever had. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! With great admiration and love, Lynda and Jennifer
Hi Ilze- Nicole and I are back in the US and wanted to thank you again for all the help that you gave us to make our trip truly fantastic! We're happy to give you some feedback on some places that stood out to us, as well as some learnings for future travelers. I'll also try to address your questions in the respective sections. Below is a quick summary: South Africa
- Cape Town accommodations were fine. Nothing "special" but we knew that going in. It was very comfortable, clean and convenient.
- The lodge in Franschhoek was really nice.
- The Elephant Lodge was a really nice location. Very unique and charming.
- You definitely warned us about the distance between all locations - we probably should of listened. While it was great to see the towns that we did, it was often after a long day of driving only to have to leave again first thing in the morning.
- All in all, the locations and lodges were all lovely in S. Africa.Mozambique
- Everything was amazing! LOVED Islands of Siankaba.
- We've already given feedback here. It was an amazing island. Beautiful, tranquil, etc.
- The Banguerra Lodge had a lot of potential. It was beautiful, the food was good.
Overall Feedback Aside from the above, we were very very happy with all the other elements of our trip (food, boarding, activities, transfers). That said, we thought we’d summarize some things that may have made our trip a bit more seamless so that you can pass along to future customers. Looking forward to connecting at your convenience. Thanks again for your help in planning a truly amazing, life changing trip. I hope the feedback above is helpful, and in the context that it was intended - which is that all in all, we are VERY happy. Have a great day. Colby
- We really loved the Stanley.
- Travel time between parks.
